On Saturday, S and I went to Taliesin West. We opted for the less-involved tour, which, because the tour guide was very enthusiastic, turned out to be an hour and 15 minutes rather than an hour.

Notable things: natural/rustic rock-in-cement construction, open-space windows that were only eventually replaced with glass, the roofs were originally canvas & are now some kind of fancy canvas between fiberglass (?) layers. Also, lots of art/performance space.

Wednesday, January 14; a scenic overlook and the Grand Canyon, mostly near Yavapai Point and the Geology Museum

Quiet day of hanging out, knitting, and some grocery shopping.

Mather Point, the east road out of the park, and possibly some other stuff

By afternoonish, I was feeling more confident on my yaktrax, and I made it more than one switchback into the canyon.
